Hi everyone,

In recent events regarding the downtime of the matrix, I think we may
make some changes in the way it authenticates.

I have never wanted a situation where new users could not
use the software if the Matrix was down, and unfortunately the way
it was coded, this is the worst case scenario.

So, in the re-release that will hopefully be out in the next couple
of days (and yes the matrix will be back up very shortly) there
are some changes that need to be put in place to ensure this doesn't happen
again.

In the new release, when you start your server up - you will be presented with
the option to not only log in and run as per normal through the matrix, but
you will be able to use the server in a 'trial' mode (which some of you may
have seen segments of in using the offline mode)

This trial mode will have a limited number of uses (undecided yet)
and this will not require any registration, nor will it require the
Matrix to be operational. You however will not be eligible for live
support via the server as you wont be connected. Like the
offline mode, the trial mode will be able to be hosted live, but
limited to 5 players. If you feel your Dev team exceeds this
amount, please let us know and we will consider raising it.

This is basically a 'just in case' mode, as I am some 53,000 kilometres
from the Matrix (hidden in a secret underground facility funded by the Greys)  Cool

Devo, PERSONALLY i think that if there is no limit to times used in this "trial" mode thingie then that would be great 'cause then I could work on my game during school!  Grin But its your engine mate, i can't make you do anything.

TBH the Dev team are going to have a big chat about this, we'll let you know the outcome tomorrow.

I do agree tho, it should be unlimited.. and perhaps its like the offline mode, limited to 5 players.
